Not so much fun down here in shaky Christchurch. The sailing season opened on Saturday with a strong norwester and not a finn to be seen....

For some the ski season is still in full flow, for others the water is too damn cold and for all the thought of wrecking your boat in a gusty norwester on the first day of the season was too much.

Matt W decided it was time to start maintenance on his boat, well beach trolley actually and after his efforts on Saturday with a welder he now has a flashy new trolley. You may as well look good off the water and sail well on!

It will be an interesting start to the season with the estuary based yacht clubs closed for the foreseeable future. This is due to a ban on sailing on the estuary until the sewerage system is fixed in Christchurch. It may take as long as Christmas. The clubs have migrated over to Lyttelton until their water is declared safe so numbers should be good at Naval Point.

Enjoy Your Season

Chris
